A note from the incoming RSGS Captain

I am deeply honoured to have been chosen as the captain of this very special golfing society.

On a personal note, there have been longstanding family connections with the RSGS. My father Olof joined way back in the 1950s and then of course my brother Anders’ continued close involvement, as well as that of his daughter Anna. The RSGS is a central part of who we are and I know that is the case for many other current members too.

I tip my hat to my predecessors who have nurtured the society so well, but we should all take credit for what RSGS is today and we are much the stronger for it. Thanks to those efforts, RSGS is a friendly, open minded and thriving mixed golfing society with some 55 active members.

That said, the committee takes nothing for granted and will continue to seek out new golfing members living in the UK with Swedish connections – such as language, work or culture. We welcome introductions from everyone.

In closing, I pay tribute to the whole RSGS committee whose largely unseen work I have witnessed at close quarters over the past year or two and without whose support the society would not function as smoothly as it does today.
